Deep Ellum Brewing Company
Deep Ellum Brewing Company
We decided to spend a Friday afternoon taking on one of the craft brewing hot-spots in Dallas: Deep Ellum Brewing Company. Nestled in the heart of Dallas' eclectic Deep Ellum neighborhood, this brewery does not disappoint. Deep Ellum Brewing Company has a great venue for hanging out with friends, and well-made beers to match.
Featuring both inside and outside seating, Deep Ellum has plenty of space for everyone. This is a good thing, since it happens to be one of the most popular breweries in town. The inside seating is dark but inviting, with plenty of tables to sit at. However, we chose to sit outside, and were very happy with the choice. The spacious patio features a small stage, many tables, and numerous fans to keep patrons cool on hot Dallas days.
Once we got settled, we walked to the bar and order flights of beer. Deep Ellum offers a four-beer flight for only $10, and this is definitely the go-to choice. With quite a few very tasty beers, picking only one would be nearly impossible. Here are the beers I picked for my flight:
- Dallas Blonde - This American blonde ale provides a hint of citrus within the classic blonde ale taste. You can never go wrong with this beer, as it is one of Deep Ellum's mainstay, signature brews.
- Easy Peasy IPA - Think IPA's aren't made for summer? Think again. The Easy Peasy IPA has as strong fruity taste, giving it a softness that most hoppy beers don't have. This was my favorite beer of the four I tried, and I will definitely be having it again soon.
- Neato Bandito - This beer is a Mexican-style lager, and has the kick to prove it. The Deep Ellum original has plenty of flavor, and is a good choice for anyone looking for a bold, strong beer.
- Deep Ellum IPA - This traditional American IPA is one of Deep Ellum's signature beers, and has the hops to back it up. This brew has all the bitterness you look for in an IPA, but still has a hint of the citrus flavors that Deep Ellum is known for.
All in all, Deep Ellum Brewing Company provided an excellent experience from start to finish. From the large, spacious patio, to the tasty, diverse beer selection, I will definitely be making a return trip. Whether you live near or far, no beer-lover's trip to Dallas is complete without making a stop at Deep Ellum Brewing Company.

Great review! Deep Ellum is one of my top places to hang out with my SMU gang. Dallas Blonde is my favorite one out of the four because of the citrus taste! Hope my hair will become a bit blonde after a year of drinking it.
